Using Heavy Duty Ground Protection Mats In House Moving

AlturnaMATS® Ground Cover Mats can be a very worthwhile investment for a serious house mover.  Ground Cover Mats have many uses, from creating a temporary roadway over delicate turf, to creating a stable working area over seemingly bottomless mud. Ground Cover Mats can also be used to firm up loose stone fill, to prevent house moving dollies from sinking into the stone and allow easier maneuvering. AlturnaMATS are tough enough to support 60 tons, yet light enough to be easily handled by hand.  No skidloader or forklift needed.

This video demonstrates the toughness and durability of AlturnaMATS, showing a mat being folded in half by a forklift, but it springs right back into shape!

AlturnaMATS® are made from recycled polyethylene, and carry a limited lifetime warranty.  If a mat cracks or breaks during normal usage, it will be replaced free of charge.  Please remember, however, that the warranty will not cover tearing of the mats caused by using chains or cables to extract them from mud.  AlturnaMATS® come in a wide variety of configurations to meet nearly any need for ground protection.  The original style of AlturnaMATS® sports a heavy duty diamond plate tread pattern on both sides.  This tread pattern provides maximum traction, while virtually eliminating the possibility for mud and debris to get stuck in the treads.  AlturnaMATS® are available in either white or black, to meet your specific application.

The newer VersaMATS, as their name implies, are perhaps the most versatile ground protection mat in the industry.  One side carries a flat, slip-resistant tread that permits pedestrians to walk easily and safely on the mats. The reverse side is the same heavy diamond plate tread found on the original AlturnaMATS, providing excellent traction for vehicles and machinery.  White VersaMATS are an excellent choice for walkways that must remain in place for several days over sensitive turf (white mats remain much cooler than black mats), or for walkways that must remain in use in darkened conditions. The white mats provide more visibility.  VersaMATS can be used to build a temporary roadway or walkway in minutes, and can be reused hundreds of times over a lifetime.
